WOAH!

Just popped to tomshardware.com for a gander.

I saw that intel are going to release a quad core processor within a year.  I guess AMD will too.  I think the battle has change from how many MHz/Ghz but how many cores!

The XBox 360 has a triple core.

This has put me off getting a new system for a while until it has settled down a bit.  Even an 8 core processor was mentioned.  It would be interesting to see a 64-bit (maybe 128-bit???) FS series designed for and running on an 8 core system!  :o :o :o :o  (Eye candy to the max please! ;D)

I think you will find at least five years will pass before MSFS supports 8 cores, if in fact it ever does.

Yes, this has been talk for quite some time. The era of speed is over. It is now more practical to get more cores. I personaly thing quad core is kinda stupid right now. There are very few games that support 64 bit and very few that support multithreading. Both at the same time? I think chip makers need to work on getting their chips more efficiant, do more clock for clock, and use less power instead of making useless chips that will have no good use for years to come...
