2 joysticks for 1 simulator

As the subject says, I have a little problem I hope you can help me resolve. :)

I bought from the net a used AVB force feedback wheel that comes with attached two pedals used for gas and brakes in driving games.

Now, the wheel works well, but the problems began when I tried to assign the pedals to the rudder in FS9 leaving my old thrustmaster joystick in command of the other surface of flight (which is the real reason I bought this wheel). It didn't work. :(

FS9 refuses to see both game peripherals at the same time (like X-plane instead does, for example) and wants to use one at time only. >:(

My question is, is there a way to make FS9 compliant to my wishes and make it use both thrustmaster and wheel so I can use the pedals for the rudder? ???

Please help me if you can. :-[

I am not sure if you can use those peddles for the rudder as they do not have the required axis needed for the rudder.
Rudder peddles need to be able to go back and forth, and when one is pressed forward the other needs to come back the same amount, and if you want brakes each peddle needs to have yet another axis for those.
The problem with your setup is the peddles do not work that way while the gas peddle goes up and down the other pedlle does not nor are they tied to together as they need to be. 8)

From a FAQ elseweb...

Q: Can I use two controllers together to fly planes? I am thinking of using a joystick and pedals.

[glb]A: You sure can, but assuming that Windows detects the two devices, you will have to set them up using the FS2004 menu - Options\Controls\Assignments will get you where you need to be. Select the first device using the 'joystick type' drop down, assign the axes (an axis is anything that swivels) and any buttons, then do the same for the other device after selecting that. If you are adding in pedals after using a joystick with rudder assigned to a twist grip, take care to delete the rudder assignment on the joystick before assigning it to the pedals.[/glb]

Not exactly the same question, but I see no reason the same steps wouldn't work just as well here.

That said, Gary's caution is true... The best you will be able to get out of those pedals is an on-off type of rudder... Push down right pedal = full application of right rudder, etc.

Thanks for having answered me, I'll try it at once. I really didn't expect this argument to be covered by the faqs, else I'd have gone there without bothering you. ;D

As for the limitations of my hardware, I'm conscious of it, but still, seen that in X-plane it does not work all that bad... and after all I spent only 25

Trust me the amount spent for rudder peddles are well worth it as they are great and adds to the realism. If you shop around CH peddles run around $130.00 USD
It took me a couple of months to save up for them but I have no regrets at all.
You can also find them at AMAZON.com and probably EBAY as well just be carefull you do not get lemmons instead. 8)

You don't have to spell it out to me, I know it. ;)

Still, as an interim solution to have a pedal-acted rudder, it's good enough. :)

Who knows, maybe next year I might buy something more professional. ;D
