Hey,

Im looking into getting a new sound card, i need a 5.1 surround sound card, ive had a look and im not sure.
Average priced if possible, i DONT want to spend a load on a sound card. Im only buying a 5.1 card because im getting some 5.1 surround sound headphones.
So reccomend me a GOOD quality card, and at a good price!

Can't beat the Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS, available for under $100.
Although thier new card is looking mighty nice!

Is the headset your looking at USB or does it use audio jacks?
I'm uncertain how a USB headset works, since a soundcard doesn't have a USB port, Im going to asssume a USB headset has its own software that allows you to configure where you sound output comes from.

If your using a headset with audio jacks then yes there should be no problem, my 7:1 card allows me to configure for every possible set up from headphones to the 7:1 surround speakers and everything in between.
Don't know much about the SB SE card but at Extreme PC Gear (fine company great prices)

I have the Zalman 5.1 headset and did not like them, switched back to standard headsets

Yes I use the Audigy ZS on my 4.1 but mostly headphones. The sound is unbelievable.
