To those who remember my hard-drive saga: As many of you suspected, and I myself came to suspect, my problem had nothing to do with my HD. According to the good folks at my local computer repair place, the problem was with my power source. It took them two weeks to figure it out, so now I don't feel so bad about not being able to figure it out at all. Rest assured that my computer fixing days are over. From now on, my policy is if the problem isn't extremely obvious, then take it to the pros'. Anyway, to add insult to injury: my truck needed emergency brake repair, and now I don't have the money to get my computer back so it sits at the shop until next week (payday). So thats it, case closed.

Isnt it funny that every time something goes wrong, something even worse happens, and you nolonger have the resources to fix the first problem. However good to hear that you figured out the problem. Seems that everyone is haveing power failures around here.

Cheers

Add me to power failure list.... Yes Seems like a problem because most people just buy by the wattage not the volts, and Computers like dells, HPs, and compaqs (and all the rest) Dont give a damn if it cant run with what its got (mines been overloaded for 1.5 years I've had it) sooooo Thats that one Cheers, Gunny

EDIT:Check my specs, and try and see how my 250 does it.... thats why I bought a new 450!

It's amazing that all of the weird problems I've had, and some others that I've heard about were all caused by the power source. It just doesn't plug into my way of thinking that these things could happen because of that particular component. Oh well, at least it's fixed and I'll have it back in five days. Yes, I'm counting down, I'm even marking the days on my calender. :P

The "pros" now have your computer, you don't.

I guess this is what could happen if you don't fix your own PC.

Sorry to hear about the truck.    :P
