Crazy X800

Long story but my Dad and stepmother have a computer that had some sort of error one day, so they took it in to the Geek Squad (I know :-/).  Well, when we got the computer back, they said they had to reinstall windows and blah blah blah.  Problem is, now, there are strange lines and dots on the screen and other weird things, so I go in the the Catalyst Control center to check the settings, and this is what I see...

These are taken straight from the control center, black dots, lines and all.  The Vid Card is a Radeon X800 Pro, with .11 drivers.  I really don't know what is wrong.  I have a 9800 Pro on my own computer with the .11 drivers and everything works fine.  I've tried tweaking settings and rolling back drivers, but I can't seem to fix it.  The computer is from Gateway and if anyone needs anymore information, I can try to get it.

Thanks,  ;)

Check the fan power cable for the GFX card is plugged in.
Check the fan is spinning reasonably.
The HSF for the GFX card attached ok?

That is overheating of the GFX card.

$168.  :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

Wish they'd told me before they did that, I could have done the same thing, and I would actually have a clue of what was going on now.

I did open up the case and look at the card, but it doesn't have a fan ???, but it does have a huge heatsink on it.  The computer worked great before they took it in, but it was only after that it went wrong.  When they first got it back, it ran really slow so I took a look and got it running better, but it had loads and loads of new crap on (AOL, all kinds of stuff), it was pretty ridiculous.  So, I'm still kindof at a loss.

Delta, Do you know a good way I can check Vid Card temperature while the computer is on?

Thanks again for the responses guys... ;)

ATI tool will tell you your card temp. The other thing is that the X800 pro should have a heatsink and fan on it, the core just gets too hot not to. so if i were you ide go out and a get a Zalman VPS-700 from newegg ($48)

And you payed $128 to get windows reinstalled??? the shame  :-/
