CRT or LCD

Postby Mobius » Sun Nov 06, 2005 11:57 pm

All right, I noticed this while at home today, on an LCD monitor,  in Strike Fighters, I would increase the resolution in-game, but it would get progressively worse after 1024x768, however, if I play it on a CRT monitor, it just keeps getting better as the resolution goes up.

I'm wondering all this because I realized the other day that I only have a 15" monitor and I want to get a bigger monitor, and I'm wondering whether to go LCD or stick with CRT.

Thanks for the help....  ;)

Go for what you can afford ...... CRT has better response times and can handle higher resolutions, however LCD is catching up.
Price is the main difference a 19in CRT can now be bought for the same price as a reasonable 17in LCD.

If youve got the cash get one of the new LGs with a 8ms response time. Or if you truely have the cash there is a 19" 3ms response time LCD out there but thatll run you about $1000

There is now a 2ms 19" LCD for 400 at Newegg. Viewsonic, had good reviews. I would leap on that if I could
