Well I bought a new joystick a few days ago (Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold USB), installed it and jumped into the simulator. I discovered that the aircraft (whatever it is) pitches

I have no idea about this model of joystick, but the first thing that comes to mind is trim setting, either on the aircraft or on the joystick itself.
Does this joystick have trim sliders/wheels? Are they in a middle position or driven to an end stop?
During setup, have you asigned a button or hat to control trim? Have you by mistake driven the aircraft trim to an end stop? I used to have an X36 combo. Very easy to hit one of the multitude of buttons, hats and rotarys.

Sounds like the trim needs adjusted, or the joystick may need calibrated???

I have the saitek x52 joystick - wonderful piece of kit!
these joysticks from saitek do some strange things - it causes my mouse cursor to move all over the place for some reason sometimes...
we dont know if this is a joystick issue or a setting in FS... so have you tried disconnecting your joystick from your computer, loading up FS2004, and trying to fly using the keyboard cursor keys?
this way, if your nose keeps draggin downwards you know your joystick isnt the issue.
on the other hand if it ends up being your joystick then you may need to callibrate as mentioned earlier in the post.
good luck - let us know how you get on! ;)

Glad you got it working.
As you may have already found out, the Saitek sticks can be a bit too sensitive.
Adjusting the sesitivity through the FS-9 options only adds delay to control surface deflection and can really cause some bad control problems, particularly during landings.
The solution?
Very simple!
Add this line to you "FS9.CFG" under

The cyborg is great, nice thrust controllers; now it makes sense to pilot some helicopters. but the best thing about it must be the price; I bought it for 0,50
