Postby cableguy » Mon Oct 03, 2005 6:31 pm

I'm in need of serious help, i have just purchased a hard drive, so that i can have 2 HDs on my system.  I have connected it, made it slave, power, everything is ok.  Did everything in bios, and the system installed the drivers, it even shows up in Device manager, but it doesnt show up in My Computer so i have no access to it. what did i do wrong?
It is and IDE or whatever HD(NOT SATA)

To assign a drive letter in My Computer, the drive must be formatted. You can do this by navigating to control panel > administrative tools > computer management > storage > disk management. Here you will see the different drives available. Right click on the new drive and select format. If you want to partition the drive first, you can do that as well, then format each partition.
