The Nvidia gfx setup green Icon, for setting AA e.t.c, in quick Launch, has disappeared.
I clicked just about everything on nvidia in the HD with no success.
Any idea how to setup the 6600gt otherwise? luke

Right click on your desktop, select "Properties" and then select "advanced" on the window that appears, you now have your Nvidia display settings to tweak as you like.
Search through the options, you'll find you can restore your taskbar icon from here.

right click desktop/properties/settings/advanced/video card tab actually............
The icon will disappear if you turn the settings util off in the PC's startup file using startup manager or similar software.
The util does not need to run anyway and the settings tab as described above is all that is ever required to access the settings.
Also, nvidia runs utils as services under XP, these utils are not needed and I turn all such nonsense off as soon as I install my drivers.

Thanx,
found it, but do all thse settings really work?
Also I hear of 3D things with the grfx cards. Is it switchable or always present.
I went into "Google Earth" the satellite or aerial fotografy of the globe. It is fascinating and reference is made of 3D of buildings.
Any ideas experts? luke

Any option supported on your card will work, the others may be greyed out.
The 3D switch is card bios controlled and not user adjustable unless you have specific software, don't worry about it. When applications need 3D, the card auto switches to tht mode.

Yeah, nVidia driver settings have a horrible and complex slide bar, and also big words like "High Quality" to deal with.

Actually, I found the ATI control center daunting........ :P
I open the driver settings, force 2x aa and 4x af, set top quality options and rarely ever return.

thanx,
will stick to 2x & 4x.
Tried various, with / without the fs9 once, but frankly was either too confused or did'nt notice much difference.

Generally 4x AA and 8x AF is enough.
