I picked up the Saitek X45 a month ago, it's by far the best stick I've used (comes with a separate throttle).

I brought a FF joystick. A week later I turned the Force Feedback off. Damn annoying. :P

Go half way and get the rumble force. Probably more realistic too. Here is what I have. Lovely stick. 8)

Logitech and FS generally don't mix.  I had a wingman for years and was constantly struggling with it.  Gotta Saitek Cyborg Evo and suddenly everything was all better ;D

Saitek Evo for me.  When I can afford it, I'm either moving up to the Evo cordless or the Evo Force Feedback.  Probably the cordless...  :)

Hi,

I admit I'm not a very frequent user of FS, but I've never had a problem with my logitech joystick (other than having to change the batteries every now and then which gets annoying: it's cordless).

What problems do logitech joysticks normally have?

They never (mine didn't) really calibrate.  The rudder was ALWAYS off, even after having calibrated it hundreds of times.  Also, in the Wingman FF 3D (I think thats what it was called), it was impossible to increase the center spring strength, meaning that the thing just kind of lolled about and created problems in the air.

I don't know how much you want to spend on it, but if you have enough money, I'd buy a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 Joystick. It's very expensive, but it's made for the MS flightsims.

Features:

USB connection for plug-and-play ease
16 programmable functions; 8 buttons plus 8-direction hat
Rotating handle gives precise rudder control
16-bit 25-MHz on-board processor delivers 100 different forces
Save and download programmed game commands into game-specific controller profiles

Got this from amazon.com

Pidgeon,

That's a pretty neat trick since MS haven't manufactured a stick for years now. Could you post a link to the device if it's still available?

There are a lot of fans of MS sticks who would like one.
