Fan Problem

Hi all,
Everytime I fly in FS, my Powersupply fan starts to spin really fast. It's scary becuase it looks like the comp is going to bow up or something. I don't know why it's only when I am running FS that this happens. No other application has this problem...It's also hot in my computer room. I wonder if that had to do with the problem...I have a cooling fan in that room to cool things down.
Thanks,
Ashar

Woozy,

Most mobos have a fan speed control that is controlled by the temperature in the case at the CPU and in the power supply.

If I were you I would find the highest CFM fans (usually about 77~100 for 120mm and 35~45 for 80mm) and replace the current fans in the case. Also try to get some of the wires out of the way (route them behind the motherboard, braid them) that should help with getting air out of the case.

And to answer the question.....YES HEAT IS THE PROBLEM ;)

My rig has been doing much better since I upgraded to two 80mm fans in the front, a 120mm in the back, and round cables...also helps to clean house in there once in a while; dust will accumulate around your vents, impeding airflow, and dust on the various boards is not good for heat dissipation either.
