[not sure where to post this?]

Lol!......

Any ideas on what the problem may be or has anyone had anything similar? Only happened so far at this one place. I've made no changes to the system recently.

Things I thought it could be related to -

a. Heat - (dont think so) I have a fan blowin' the graphic's card (my toes are cold as a result  :( )

b. compression error in the VFr scenery? (looks like the effect you get when opening a DXT image in irfanview?)

c. Computer on its last legs?

d. I want your Amazing Technicolour Ground.

Quite amusing anyway lol!

Looks like the ground texture detail (probably something like ground_detail.bmp) has been replaced by another texture, overlaying the detail you're seeing there. I'm not certain about this though (best to wait for someone to clarify it) but I think if you search through your fs2004 CD's the original should be somewhere there. Also, installing a replacement texture set might solve it.
Hope that helps  ;D.

*Edit* If you switch off ground detail (ground and water detail slider I think) in your display options, it should go away as well *Edit*

What Graphics card are you running, and how old is it. I think it might be time for a swap ;)

It's not that old, I think I'm right in saying it's a 9800XT?

Birdman, you can try going into the internal driver settings for the card and playing around with the options. See if there's anything ticked that shouldn't be and vice versa.

Mef out.  :)

Birdman has a beast of a PC if I recall, certainly should'nt have issues like that!

Re-install the 'ol drivers, run a program such as driver cleaner to remove all traces of your old drivers, after un-installing the old drivers, but, before you install the new ones.

My FS9 does not look like that Birdman. !!!

I had problems with my textures when i first put my 9600xt in.  I found that removing then re-installing the graphics drivers solved it.  Try the newest ones from ATI.  ;)
