Anyone have any ideas?

Dell XPS
P4
XP Pro
nVidia 6800GT 256
1 gig ram
200 GB HD

yesterday while changing a flight plan, my screen went black. had to shut off PC pressing the power button, now it wont boot up at all. No boot up noises. Nada.

I called XPS support but the yutzes dont have me on file for some reason so I have to call customer support tomorrow morning to find out why before they will let me talk to tech support.

just another addendum...

I installed my old 9800 Pro ATI card and still black screen

I can occasionally get a brief (half second) Dell logo with either card but then it goes black again

I had that problem once with my Dell. I called a local computer shop, and they said to unplug it for awhile, which I did, and still nothing. So they told me I could bring it in and they would take a look at it. Did that and the d*mn thing worked fine when I got it there. Even to this day I dont know why it did it.... :(

Hi Steve...;)...!

I think that this could be a problem with your PSU - it could be faulty - you might want to swap it for another one and see if there's any difference.

Cheers... ;D...!

PS. Throw the Dell away... :D... 8)... :D...!

LOL well of all things it wasnt the Dell, it was my LCD monitor. Apparently my monitor took a nosedive. thankfully I have my other monitor on my other PC that I plugged it into and viola
