Postby TacitBlue » Mon May 02, 2005 8:49 am

I plan on getting a new video card very soon. could anyone tell me if this is worth it? http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814164025 I just want to be able to have better looking grafics is FS, mainly reflective water textures.

PS, Here is my MoBo http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131451 and I currently have a GeForce 4 MX440 - I know its crap, hence the new card.

The GPU there sounds, OK, but myself, I would reccomend a 6800 GPU. The mobo there is a little old being socket A, but you should see an increase in 3DMark03. Not much in Mark01 though.

Go for a 6800LE or 6600GT both cost pretty much the same, I'm delighted with my 6800LE  8)

Add another 512MB RAM & watch your machine fly!  :)

But as Scanie now well knows a 6800LE takes a little tweak to get the best from it!  ;) Your welcome to the instructions if you get one.  ;D

Thanks for the advise guys. Video cards are my weakness I guess, because theres so many out there, and cards that sound equal are totally different and soforth, so I never know what to look for. Anywho, I think Ive settled on the GeForce 6600GT http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150080 good price, and Id like to stick with nVidia sense my Mobo's chipset is nVidia, it seems like they would work well together. I dont know if that even matters  ::).
