Puter specs:
P4 3.5 800 fsb
intel chipset
ati 9600pro 256M
1 Gb dual layer ram
win xp pro
Been simming for about 3 yrs and finally got what I thought  would be a good setup, and it is, most of the time. What I have is a really bad studder and once in a while a freeze momentarily of the screen. using the frame rates on screen shows in the 40 to 50 area most of the time and the graphics are fantastic, then all at once it just starts to studder really bad. can't seem to geta handle on it myself. Has anyone had this problem that might offer a solution? BIG Thanks in advance
JJ

You could try reducing the FPS to around 20-25, reducing needless workload on your processer.. ;)

A good thing to add is it trying to read files from the Hard drive at the time?

Just thinking outside the box again.. ;)

Wow, with those specs, you shouldn't have that much of a problem.  That said, FS9 is very system-reliant, so it's possible that in some areas of the world you're going to have a hiccup or two.

Make sure you're running a program such as FSAutoStart to shut down your background apps.  That should help quite a bit.  Also make sure things like Antialiasing in the game is turned off and turned on with your card.

I don't remember off the top of my head.  Google it.

As for turning down and locking your frames, it's in the display menu of FS9...I think under the hardware tab.

Replace your Ati 9600 with a Geforce 6800LE, or 6600GT - You will be stutter free ,especially, with your system spec.

Read my sig.  ;)

Not in all cases I'd say,

6600gt
Pipelines: 8
Memory: 128bit
GPU/mem: 500/450

6800le
Pipelines: 8 open / possibility of unlocking the cards other "pipes" , upto 16 with Rivatuner.
Memory: 256bit - Twice as fast as the 6600GT
GPU/mem: 300/350 ,or, given the Memory bus speed differance, an effective 600/700

I went for a 6800le because its a better card based on a faster design my 6600GT's fan simply fell off after a weeks ownership, I decided on the 6800LE as it was actually only

I talking about stock. The 6600 gt does perform slightly better.

Yes, overclocking a 6800 le will give better performence than a stock 6800 le.

Actually, I was refering to the memory bus speed, 128bit on the 6600GT , 256Bit on the 6800.  :P
