Somthing really strange has happened to my PC.  I had been using it on and off all day.  I shut it down as per normal and went out for about 1/2 and hour to get some food for dinner.  Finish eating etc so its been about 1hr total shut down time.

I go to re-boot PC.  First page comes up says what ram I have etc etc and what devices are on my system, these are all correct.  Then it goes to next page, says 'Detecting Array' then it attempts to laod the Gigabyte somthing or other and says press Shift+F10 to configure.................

Thats it just hangs there.  So I thought I would go into BIOS just to double check stuff.  Re-set go into BIOS.  Just comes up with a load of garbled rubbish    So I reset again and try BIOS once more, this time I just get a blue screen with the border and thats it

What I dont understand is how it detects everything thats in my system if BIOS is screwed??

I checked on the D-Bracket.  It is stopped on the following 'Boot Attempt - Description is 'This will set low stack and boot via INT 19h'

Stuff  I have tried so far is.  Clearing CMOS by moving the jumper on JBAT1 this had no effect other than resetting my BIOS and this shows when it boots on the first page.  Removed both ram sticks and tried one at a time, the PC still hangs at the same place.  I disconnected all my HDD except my OS one this had no effect.

My main OS is on a SATA drive but it was working and has been working fine for ages so I dunno what the hell has gone wrong    Anyone got any ideas?  Could the HDD that my OS is on have failed and caused the above? I dont understand why I cant access the BIOS yet it detects everything in the system.  Also can anyone explain what it is doing at the point of freezing up.  I dont know what the description for the D-Bracket readout means.

This one has me stumped at the moment.  Guess I will be pulling it apart some more after work today!

Anyone got any ideas as to what it is?

All sorted!

When I got in from work I unplugged all except the Sata drive. I could get into BIOS too. It booted a little further and gave me a PXE error of some kind. Quick scan online showed it was trying to boot off a network instead of a PC. Clearing CMOS didnt work but once in BIOS I loaded the 'Safe-Defaults' and it booted straight up. Just hope it doesnt keep doing it now!

I guess it was just 'one of those things!' Good luck with it anyway. I think you scared it with your Hayabusa!

It seems like it hung while trying to configure a RAID array.

Something screwy there.......... make sure your RAID settings are correct or disabled if you haven't got a raid setup, Or worse, you have a RAID BIOS on a non RAID board lol   :)

reflash BIOS, if it won't work get a new board.
looks like faulty flash memory
