PNY Verto GeForce2 MX4000 - no water reflections..

Hi, anyone have any advice on configuration settings for enabling water texture reflections of the sunlight? The reflections work fine for the airplanes and buildings but nothing for water.

The MX4000 came out in Dec. as a cheapo $79 "value" card. I hope this does not mean it can never do water reflections..ugh..

Thanks,
krylite

Don't you mean the geforce4 mx4000...I don't think there is such a thing as the geforce 2 mx4000.

Either way, it cannot do water reflections as those require the use of shaders.

The geforce4 mx (or geforce2 mx) series is a directx 7 card, meaning it has no support for shaders.

Yeah, look for the GeForce 3 Ti200 64 / 128 MB card. Nice card! :)

Or GF4 ti4600 128mb.  I have seen these on ebay for under $50 now!!  Excellent card for the money.

Oops. right , it's the GeForce 4 MX4000. Thanks for the information. I don't know much about 3D cards or the term shaders...Dang! what a ripoff for a supposedly "new" card.  >:(

The geforce 4 mx is a very old card. Its just being remarketed. What you need is a dirctx 9 card.

I would get a 6600 gt in your situation, but it is more exspensive than a geforce2
