hi, just got an X-45 controller and seems i have to keep the stick pushed forward too much to fly level. this happens in fs2004 and pacific fighters. i am using the profiler. there doesn't appear to be any calibrator for this stick/throttle. anyone have this problem before?

Have you checked the aircraft trim in the sim?

Go to your control panel.  Choose Game controllers.  Calibrate your joystick in there.

As also said above you have to trim planes to fly level! the faster you go the more down trim you will need to stay level.

i knew of the Control Panel/Game Controllers but it just shows you that each button/stick is alive, not how its reacting.

i'm realizing now the importance of trim, some planes like the default Cessnas fly quite steadily and easy, while a particular HC-130H Hercules that i downloaded points its nose up 45-50 degrees without any ajustments (maybe its the downloaded model doing it?).

I have a Saitek EVO and I am pretty sure it has similar software and drivers.

First make sure you have the latest driver which you can get at the Microsoft update site.

Calibrating it under game controllers simply requires the rotation of the stick until it is centered. Rotate it, pitch up and down, and twist it as required. For example if you see a red bar on the left, twist it right and left until it's gone. It should center automatically with a few twists and turns.

It does require a lot of frequent callibration but a feature I like is that you don't need to go into control panel to do so. In FS I simply pause the flight and follow the same routine as for game controllers.
