Jagged Edges

Hi all!
Just a question or 2. Why are the edges of my aircraft and scenery so jagged? And how can I get rid of this? My system is a   2.4 P-4,  1gig of RAM,  GeForce 5500 256mb vid card (with current drivers). My frame rates are locked at 20 but will go to 50 if I set it to unlimited.............with this system I think the sim  should LOOK a lot better than it does.......
Thanks for any help!  Don 8)

Go to your graphics card settings window via the control panel.

Once there hit on the settings tabe then on the advanced button.  Click on the tab that has your g/card name on it, i.e. FX5500.

Choose performance and qulity settings.  Select Anit-Aliasing in the window.  Now down the bottom turn it off application controlled and ideally you want 4x.  Try this as it will give the best image though it may hit your FPS to high.

If it does try 2x or 2xQ.

Remember your other games may require anti-alias to be turned off before playing otherwise they may become very jerky.

You can set AA in fs2004 menu somehwere in vid options and not have to go through your vid card settings.

Almost all games support AA though. Even my 1995 game G-Police had anti-aliasing support (abliet it was limited).

Turning it on via the game is not as good as turning it on via your graphics settings.

Very true, but I'd rather not go through my gfx card setup everytime.

Dude, with your setup why the hell would you need to turn it off anyway???  Your PC is better spec than mine and should handle it easy (Lucky git!!)

I leave mine turned on 4xAA all of the time for any game  ;D

I play really old games with it though and many dos and win3.1 emulators don't like it.

Otherwise, I would have it on all the time like you suggest.
