9700 Pro

Just picked up a 9700 Pro 128 on Ebay.

Should get it tomorrow.

OK - what's the good and bad news about the card

Don't have one, have the 9800 Pro 128 MB. It's a decent card even today. I would suggest you update the drivers immediatley, and would strongly suggest using the latest Omega drivers.

Depends on what your old card was Rollerball?

Old card is a GeForce 3 Ti 200 so I'm hoping for a real improvement. My present quality is not bad as you can see from past screenies but it's just so slow. It's a major negative on FR and eg ground textures just load so slowly. Obviously I'll load the latest drivers as always.

It's a 'refurbished' card from a dealer with a warranty and as you say well under

After a '3 ti 200, your in for a real treat !  ;)  8)

Make sure you run before and after 3DMark 2001 Benchmarks!  I'd be interested to see the differance.  :)

quite a few of these coming up now as new cards come out but guys are just going mad with the prices they're bidding for em
