SOUND TROUBLE

Postby afi0yz » Mon Nov 29, 2004 12:51 am

Hi,

I just got a new sound card for my comp(Sound Blaster Live 24 bit), I installed all the latest drivers and everything, but the sound comes out all scratchy, with a lot of feedback

I think it is a device conflict, but I really can't figure out how to turn off the other controller, it is a onboard sound controller, when I enter the device manager every sound device is turned off except the new card, then when I enter the BIOS it says the sound device I tuned off (or tried to) is actually on along with my new card.

any advice????
please help

Have you "Disabled in all profiles" the onboard sound ........
Once you have done that you may need to check that  everything is playing thorough the new device.

If its a conflict  you'll have a small ! in a yellow circle next to the device in the Hardware manager.

Right click on the icons for CD's etc and in Properties find what device its playing through.... then change it to your new one.

Hope this helps
cheers

Too bad they don't fully support the Audigy 2 ZS  :'(

I always like playing with different drivers although I have yet to experiance any real trouble with the Creative drivers, but am always looking for something better. ;)
