Need New Joystick

Postby FS_Pilot » Sat Nov 27, 2004 12:04 pm

Iam currently runn ing a Microsoft 3D pro joystick but i have been told they no longer make them. Can anyone recommend a good joystick similar to the sidewinder pro? I use the twist grip rudder for flying helo's.
Thanks Allen

I have a Logitech Wingman. I am appalled by its poor quality and even more by the response I got from Logitech when I went back to them about it. Also there are many posts on the forum here about Logitech problems.

My recommendation based on my own experience is - avoid anything that has the Logitech name on it.

I would agree with you there, Logitech stuff sux IMO too.  Like you said it just feels badly put together and generally shabby.  My old Logitech Joystick I had years ago broke very quickly so I just went a brought a decent one.  Had an M$ Sidewinder for ages but that finally died  :( Woulda got another only M$ has stopped making them DOH.

I have gone to Saitek now too and the build quality and feel is quite good IMO at the moment!

I've had two Logitech Wingman Extreme. Both rubbish. One lasted just under a year and the other about 5 months. I treated them really well and only flew about 150 hours between them.
Saitek is so good. ;)

I used the Logitech briefly (anyone want it?) Now I use the Saitek X45, I couldn't believe the build quality it's so good. One minor criticism is it's a tad sticky for precision stuff like helos. I've tried using lube, but I'm thinking of replacing the washer or maybe using a spring clamp to relieve pressure. Anyway, it's a million times better than the Logitech and maybe 500,000 times better than the MS.
