Hey there. This might sound a bit strange, but when I fly with 8xAntialiasing and 16xAnisotropic filtering, I get more frames than I do with neither of the above turned on!

Has anyone else experienced this? Also, to me, there seems to be no difference in picture quality when they are both on and off. Any advice?

Cant say I noticed this.  I only use 4x AA dont need any higher with the rea at 1600x1200.  

Have you got the Anti-Alias box ticked in the game? could be that doing it.  You should have the AA box unticked in the game and just let your g/card sort it out.

With my Ultra I do notice that my FPS dont really drop at all when it is enabled though??  I can turn it off and it still runs the same FPS thus suggesting (I know this) that my CPU is my bottleneck.
