Pedals that work with Saitek X45?

Postby dodger » Tue Oct 26, 2004 7:08 pm

Has anyone used pedals with the X45 controllers from Saitek? Thinking specifically about the CH Pro USB pedals, but if you've used another brand successfully I'm interested.

But why?  I find that the rudder control for the X-45 works great . . . unless you're looking for realism.

But I would suggest the CH Pro Pedals, since they're durable and well-built.

I agree with ender. Rudder pedals are useful if you need total realism, the Saitek rocker works fine otherwise. Any USB pedals will work, don't waste your money on expensive hardware you don't need.

Thanks guys. Actually I seem to get inconsistent (usually too much) sensitivity values from the rocker. I know I can go to the a/c config. file and change the value for each a/c, but I wondered if pedals would alleviate that? I am assuming pedals MAY have a wider range of travel and thus be easier to modulate. Of course the realism aspect woudn't hurt either. Any comments?

I know this may sound dumb, but have you lowered the sensitivity in FS? Or have I misunderstood you?

Fair question. Usually I run the sensitivity levels at 50-75% since I'm not quick enough to use 100%. I have reset rudder sensitivity in individual a/c config files when that particular downloaded a/c is overly sensitive - latest example being the otherwise marvellous Alpha Bleu Ciel Corsair for FS9 - but what I'm really trying to say is that the rocker seems to be MORE sensitive than the aileron-elevator control. (I do have FSUIPC installed but haven't used it to configure controls since the X-45 is already customized to my liking)

If you can afford 79.99 USD (Circuit City/Best Buy) for the X-45, you might as well go another 30 or so USD for CH pedals and have the realism.
