Getting the most out of...

How can I get the most out of my AIW-9800...I have a good card I feel but compared to some of these other peoples aircraft mine look horrible...I mean their aircraft are shiney and reflective..mine are pretty dull...I set the pref. to the max but still no luck?...Am I doing something wrong?
