Routers not just for woodworking anymore.

I need some help.
My boss at work asked me to look for something called a "gateway" and not the computer brand.
What we have at work is 7-10 computers hooked to sattilite for a internet connection. He recently rented office space to someone and is allowing them to use the internet connection. But the problem is if our main computer is shut down they no longer have access to the net. I told him it was unwise to allow them to hook directly through the computer that contains all asspects of our business! but he won't listen to me so he asked a professional about this and the pro said he needs a gateway so we can shut down our computers so that the other office can still have internet access. Problems is this
"pro" never told him what a "gateway" is or where to get one, not to professional in my opinion.
I went over to Newegg and found a list of "gateways" problem is I haven't a clue as too what I need too get???

Basically the problem needing solved is:
To allow the "renters" access to our sattilite internet connection without having to leave our computers turned on at night.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, and by the way it isn't my money so cost isn't a factor, hell I'll even ship one of you over from the otherside of the pond to hook it up ;D ;D ;D (kidding on that shipping over part, not on the cost ;) )

Yes I think that would be it!
As long as the renters can use the internet without our office computers being on that is what he needs!
Funny thing, these renters deal with Internet Kiosk sales, I build these stupid containers for them to place in airports, malls etc. That charge hardworking people something like $5 for a couple minutes web time! The funny part is these guys are supposidly "experts" but have no clue as to what we need!!!
I also mentioned to the boss that these computer geeks are the last type people you want to have access to his computers if anyone knows how to hack it would be these two!
Of course though this is the same boss that won't listen to me when i tell him the importance of anti-virus software and a firewall. And I'm the first one he comes too when the computer starts to freak out! ;D ;D ;D
