We're getting a P4  3GHz with HT......  from South Africa.....  Just trying to find out a way to get it up here without having to pay millions in duty!  So pissed off, cause it could be months!  And I'm writing big exams in a couple of months, so I won't be able to use it!!

My system is an HP Pentium III 933MHZ with an ATI graphics card and 512MB of RAM.  I'm heading to Fry's today to get a new Intel 915GEV motherboard (3GHz P4) with 1GB of RAM to see how the performance changes.  I'm "butt dragging" in the performance department in FS2004 at SFO and locations where there is a lot of detail.  :-[

They did tests and found out that the amd 64 proccesers are faster and better for gaming. The amd 64's are faster gaming then the P4 3.4 gig extreme edition :) I got Amd 64 3200 proscessor :)

What about the new P4   3.8GHz Extreme with a 2.5MB cache!

Still...  I know AMD are better for gaming.

It's just that, so many people I know, keep on saying that the AMD's bearly last a year, let alone six months.

It can sound like a lot of money if it only last so many months.  But...  That's what I've been told, by quite a few people high up in the computer world.

That is well know, expecially with the FX-53 processor, currently the fastest gaming processor around!

(Wish i had one :'( )

AMDs lastest 6-12 months!??!??!  WTF, who on Earth said that?  They need their head examined!  My system has lasted over 2 years now, and i have done loads of stuff to it, which includes putting a new (quieter) HSF and PSU etc...  My Grandparents AMD Duron has lasted over 5 years!  That still runs very well, knowing my Grandparents it will not have been cleaned out, because dust will build up a bit. :o
