Have an older 19 inch monitor. Specs say max resolution is 1280  x 1024 flicker free 75Hz and 85Hz. Any ways trying to get the most out of it for now. In FS9 setup it has 1280 x 768 x 32 also there is 1280 x  768 x 16. What is the difference in the two?

Thanks

The last number of this sequence (i.e. 32 vs. 16) refers to the display color depth.

I have the exact same Graphics Card that you have and see very little difference between the 1280 x 768 x 32 vs. the 1280 x  768 x 16 display modes.  In my opinion, however, the colors are a bit brighter in the 1280 x 768 x 32 mode.

In many games, I can tell some difference between 32 and 16bit. On other games, It's a big difference. For example, Unreal Tournament. The colors are richer and more realistic.  On FS2004, I've compared screen shots. Made a shot in 16bit, then made a shot in 32bit. Supposedly, if I look at a 16bit on a 32bit display, I should see a difference. Nope!

I still run in 1600x1200x32 though...
