Want to run FS2002

Postby Hessian » Mon Jun 14, 2004 9:11 pm

I currently have a Pentium 2, 400 Mhz machine with a Voodoo2 3D card, 128m of ram and plenty of hard drive space. Will this run FS2002? I would imagine all of you are chuckling, but it is all I have right now. Thanks for any insight.

If you have the game read the side of the box for its minimum specs! I cant remeber what they are off the top of my head so cannot advise you. If your PC specs match the minimum then yes you can although you will have to turn a lot of the detail down.
AMD64 3500+ @ 2200MHz 400FSB
MSI K8N Neo 2 mobo nForce3 chipset
1gig Corsair XMS PC3200 timings @ 10.2.2.2
XFX 6800 Ultra @ 450/1200
80gig HDD
Loadsa fans!!!

Well, yes and no. You can play FS2002 but at very low image quality.

I have the minimum requirements right here.
-Pentium II 300mhz Equivilant or higher
-3d video card with min 8mb onboard memory or higher that is DirectX 8 compatible
-Microsoft Windows 98 or higher
-64mb system ram or higher
-650mb of hard disk space, 1gb or greater for full install
-4x CD-ROM
-DirectX 8 compatable sound card
-Some kind of joystick
[center]I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. ;)
The Rig:
AMD Athlon XP2000+ Palomino, ECS K7S5A 3.1, 1GB PC2700 DDR, Geforce FX5200 128mb, SB Live P

PIII 500Mhz
128Mb SDRAM
The 'ole TNT2 Pro

That runs it at about 3 - 7 fps.

LOL, well I guess I'm not the only one out here with an older machine. I am going to give this a shot and see what happens. If all else fails I have my FS98 to fall back on. Or get a better machine. Thanks for all the input from everyone.
