Upgraded Ram and now no CD or DVD drive

HELP! I cannot play my flight sim now.

I just upgraded tha Ram on my computer, bought the correct compatible RAM board, an additional 512 mb. Slid it into the Dimm slot, reconnected everything on my PC, turned it on, and now my DVD-RW and CD-RW drives are not functioning.

The computer recognises the new ram upgrade but now no more CD or DVD.

Should I have reversed the boards. Put the old ones in the new slot and the new board in the first slot? Im at a loss and not exactly computer literate at all times.

Thanks,

Stephen

Curious, do you use FSAuto Start?
I have just tried that program due to reviews it got in these forums, but noticed when done flying and I shut down FS that something doesn't restart, causing my cd, and cdrw drives not to function. Still haven't figurered out which process or service it is not restarting???

Yeah, I use FS Autostart. I had some issues with it initially but wasnt because of the program but user error.  I noticed if you hover over each of the lines to stop, or start it tells you most of the ones it recommends leaving on and I had inadvertently shut some of them off.  Now it runs like a top. The ones it says I can turn off, I do so, and the ones it recommends to leave running, I leave running. If you havent checked to see if you have shut one off that shouldnt be, I would say try that.
