Can some one tell me what & who to set the frame rates.

I have NVIDIA GeForce FX5200 video card Bus: APG 8X
Memory: 128 . Now I dont know what all that maens
or if that has anything to do whit the frame rates. If anyone can tell me how to set up this video card, and something about the frame rates I'd be thankful.

I have the same card. I'll explain what everything does.

AGP 8X is the speed at which the card interfaces with the mainboard. It's quite fast, faster than regular PCI. 8X means it's eight times faster than the original AGP ports.

The memory is where your card stores graphic information before it is processed. 128mb is a good sized chunk.

The frame rates are how fast the computer is displaying the image. 16fps and above is good.

The AGP 8X and the 128mb ram will improve image quality and frame rates.

you dont exactly set the frame rates the computer will try get the maximum frame rate or FPS from the settings you have chosen..the more detailed and adavanced the settings are like antialising and filtering the lower the frame rates will be...

For fullscreen display resolution I have it set at (1280x1024x32) & for framerate I have it set at unlimited

My computer has a Pentium[R] 4CPU 3.06 GHz 512MB of ram whit this and the NVIDIA GeForce FX5200 video card.

with all the tabs turn all the way up can the computer take it??? Or what would be the better settings???

  Nice setup. I wouldn't set it at unlimited though. 30 FPS is about the limit to which the human eye can see. Anything beyond that is basically the same, so I've heard.  :P   You can crank up a lot of the settings, as your RAM and you Intel will help. Can't be much more specific, as I don't have the same comp, hope someone else will.

24-25 is actually the limit which the human eye detects.  Despite claims you'll hear that a user can detect the difference between 40 and 50 fps, science tells you otherwise.

As for what to set it at, the higher you set your framerates, the harder your computer is going to have to work.  

Imagine you've got a bar you're trying to jump.  Set it 10 feet off the ground and you're going to have to try harder to clear it than it would if you set it 10 inches off the ground.

If it get s too jerky Batman , you could drop the screen resolution to as far as 1024 x 768 x 32, it will display faster that way.
