I install the new 4.4's expecting better performance, and what do I get... disappointment.

I can no longer change my screen resolution, card settings, and DXT3 textures won't work.

Rolling back to older drivers doesn't work, the problems still persist.
I was hoping someone here could help me, ATi hasn't responded to my email yet.

When I installed new drivers for my TNT2 i was amazed by the difference...

I have not tried the new Cat 4.4 drivers, because they were intended as a bug fix for some games not a performance boost.

Try this: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745

then put something like Cat 4.3 on, i use those and have no problem.

There is a driver removal tool at guru3d as well that may help you.

Turns out it wasn't the drivers.
My hard drive was on it's last breathe.

Still no 4.4 out for 98/ME yet :-[ Flicker flicker :)
