MS FF Wheel Pedeals as Rudder

Hope someone can help me.
I have both MS FF 2 joystick and wheel. FS9 is set up with the pedals from the wheel for the rudder. Problem is that the standard setting means that left pedel moves right rudder. When I select the option to reverse it indicates a red tick, but does not work. When I go back to the settings, the red tick has disappeared. I have previously managed to get this to work, but unsure why it does not when I select it.
