I don't take credit for the picture, the're taken from the Demonite download page...... In truth their probably the main reason I got it from them :-[ I hope it doesn't mean they spend all their time drawing and not building my computer though! ::)

PS. Im trying to get 3DMark to run on this computer but after about the third test my screen scrambles with bits of purple, red and blue etc (the colours of the rainbow....) and wont do anything. I have this occasionally while doing other things but not terribly often. Whats going on? Do I need to re-install 3DMark or something? Or can my computer not cope with the test, it seemed to be having trouble getting above 7fps!

A Note on Progress

Postby congo » Thu Jan 15, 2004 6:12 am

Despite AMD's current "situation", we all have a lot to thank them for. Without another major player in the CPU market, do you think Intel would have moved so quickly to improve their Products, I doubt it.

We can only hope that AMD (or at least some other firm) continues to keep the pressure on Intel so that developement continues, it wasn't long ago that CPU's REALLY SUCKED!

Another thing, it's quite one thing to be opinionated and "informed" by research and benchmark reports etc., but quite another to sit down, build two machines, one AMD, one P4, and then fly both of them to see the results.......  I've done it. And there isn't much between the 2, not enough to argue about.

I am not anti AMD (or beleive Intel is better in any way), in fact after purchasing my new PC I had I regretted not getting the AMD 64 with my new PC until last week. The more bad news for AMD64, the less quickly my computer will go out of date! And the less likely new programs will only support 64bit CPU's :(........

(I've gone back to being to being driven insane again....)
