Forzen Picture in flight?

Here I go again,

I was flying along adusting the GPS and  viewing  the outside and inside of a plane when  all of a sudden it locks up and freezes.

I just put in a 128 MB viedo card hopping that would solve the problem; it only allowed me to fly in full screen mode, and looks great. So why am I still  from time to time freezing up or locking up my computer?
I  have 512 Ram, 40GB Hard drive, a 1.3 gig AMD Antholn Chip, and 128 PCI vedio Card.

Any cheap helps  here? JFG 123

Just a few ideas, some cheap some not.
First have you updated your sound card drivers? I know it sounds weird but I had lockup problems and this solved my problem. Also if you can afford more ram get it. 512mb should be enough, but the more you got the better. An AGP vid card would have been better than the PCI is but unless you can return the PCI one I don't see you rushin out to buy an AGP card (that is if you even ave an AGP slot on your mobo). As far as your processor, it should be fine since I use a 1.1 Gig wich is lower than your 1.3. Make sure you are closing any unneeded background applications as they are eating up your ram.
Hope you get it sorted out,
Kevin

P.S. while updateing your sound card drivers you may as well update all your drivers just to be sure and make sure you are using Direct X 9.0b not 9.0a or lower.

Knightstryker,
Thanks for your helps now, how do I find an updated driver for my on board sound card? The reason I got a PCI Vedio card was because my motherboard of 2001 could only take an AGP 4x Vedio Card of which I tried a GE Force 5600 at 256 Mb, the company that build my PC Cypertron worked with me for about 8 weeks to finally get a PCI 128 card that would work, the only alterantive was to replace the motherboard.

Now I get full screen and love it.

Thanks again for your helps JFG VFRand IFR sim Pilot

Thanks Knightstryker, did down load lates sound drivers for my motherboard. But sill have from time to time a frozen picture but not so far on FS 2004 MS.
I contacted my computer maker and they say, becuase of the intensene graphics of FS and Tiger Wood 2003 and so on games , the 1.3 gig Antholn Chip may not be able to handle the grahics and sounds, and they suggest to go to at least 2.0 gig which is the max for my motherbroad. What do You think?
Just want to fly with out freezing up in route.
