OK. This is a little more than complicated, but well worth it. You will need to give me a little more info on your system (BIOS Settings, OS etc.). Then you will need to go to the manufacturer's website and find the new BIOS or FirmWare drivers. If you give me more info, I can find these for you.
When you have found them, you will probably download a .exe that will start and ask for a blank formatted floppy disk. Insert this and wait while the cylinders are written. A disk image will be copied to the floppy disk. Once this hasd happened you restart your computer with the floppy disk in, and it should come up with a DOS screen that will take you through the setup.
One word of warning, if the power turns off during the update process, you may permanently damage your BIOS and have to get a new motherboard or computer. So make sure you are not going to have a power cut or your hamster is not going to nibble through the power cable.
