MTI brand graphics card?

Has anyone ever heard of MTI brand Grahics Cards.  ???

I can get a 128Mb FX5200 TD for $117-00.

Are they crap, or mediocre , or OK?

(Gotta be better than 8 mb of integrated shared ;D ;))

I'm putting together my new PC and I am having trouble justifying the cost of a Ge Force 5200 or similar well known model. I can get a 64 Mb card for just over $100, but I'd like to get a 128 mb to compliment my good memory (512 DDR @ 3200 - 400 Mhz).

Thanks  ;)

It's not the BRAND, it's the CHIP.

That's an NVidia chipped card isn't it? So long as it says NVidia and has the logo on the box (or ATI if I've got it wrong :) ) then you should be alright

BTW

60GB is not a big h/drive nowadays. Check it out - you'll prob find a 120 GB is not a lot more

I've just checked my trade price list for the UK. Be careful - there are 2 versions of the FX5200 on my list.

Version 1
=======

Generic Specifications
Chipset: GeFORCE FX 5200
256bits graphics controller
GPU Clock 250 Mhz
Memory Clock 400 Mhz
RAMDAC

Bren, old buddy.....don't forget one thing you still have up your sleeve there......even if you don't get the total high level vid card which you may think as being a bit overpriced for your budget......you can always get in touch with Ramsa and see how much he can assist in the performance tweaking dept......we have all seen how much his expertise can help even a mid-range system......
My system isn't the best around, but imagine what Ramsa could do to improve my shots.....I have yet to call him, as I am willing to accept my quality and framerates as they stand..........He is the man !

Yep. I know. He helped me ages ago, to get my 'pitiful' little thing to a point where CFS2 was great and I could at least have a 'look' at CFS3.

I'm not going for the highest, biggest or best, but I would hope that this thing (specs below) will be a reasonable performer even on CFS3. If it's not. I give up. What the hell else can you do. I'll be stuffed if I'm going to pay for 3+ Gb processors, 1 GB+ DDR Ram and 256 Mb Cards just to have a go on a $100 game. M$ can go and get stuffed.......................lol  ;D ;)

In fact, now that I think about it, when you consider that what I'm doing know would have cost twice the price when CFS3 first came out, they have a bloody hide for releasing something that requires so much performance etc. Wankers.   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

There you go. I've had me whinge.  ;)

Oh by the way people, sorry, it was an MSI graphics card, not MTI.  ;D ;D ;D ;) ;)
