ATI 9800 Pro?

I went to the dell website to configure a comp and relized that the ATI 9800 Pro was a 128mb graphics card. I thought the 9800 Pro was only a 256mb. The price would seem to agree with me there, as hope all you would, or just make me think i'm an idiot. Either one.    ;D

The ATI Radeon 9800 Pro is available in both 128MB and 256MB, with a $100 difference in price.

Don't get a Radeon 9800, get a FX5900 if you want power.

Easy to say, if you have $699 CDN to pay at Futureshop :o

I have seen whole systems sell for less than that  8)......you don't need to pay that much for a vid card, but don't let me turn your head if you thing you can justify it....after all, its only for playing games..... ;)   ;D

9800 is just fine.  Maybe even TOO much card for flight sim...too much $$ as well.

   Maybe so, but still...
Always good to get, stick it in there and forget about it.
I want Half Life 2, I can only get that if I upgrade my card.

I got a 64mb mx/mx Nvidia card.

Yeah I am really happy with my 9800 Pro.  9700s are good from what I hear as well...and somewhat cheaper.

Toms Hardware has a series of tests on high end ATI and Nvidia cards.
My 9700P 128 is a good value.  The 9800P 128 was about $80 more for about a 15 percent increase in performance.
According to THG, the 256 cards don't provide much additional performace but in the future they may.
The Nvidia top end cards are a little better than ATI top end but cost significantly more.
Check the tests.
PriceWatch for costs.
I prefer boxed for the warranty vs OEM.
