My g-force 4 4200 ti 64 mb died today and i don't
know why . comp would not boot at all so I checked to
see if all the fans were running and they were. I then
took the card out an reseated it . started up the comp
and got error codes still would not give me any video .
So I took it out and installed a nvidia vanta 16 mb card
I have as a backup comp booted right up. So I tryed on more time on the 4200 no luck . So I argued with the wife for about a half hour on the need for a new video
card. She finally give in so I headed to bestbuy check
book in hand and found a g-force 4 ti 4600 128 ddr
asylum for $200.00 the tech there told me the only
card there that would be better would be the fx 5900
ultra for $500.00 . So I came home with the 4600
Installed it and it great somewhat faster then my 4200
but not alot . Also I can't seem to get tv out to work
again Ill have to play around with that .So I hope I
made the right decision. What do you guys think would
the fx 5600 been a good choice I heard it has issues.

I use a Ti4800, If I had the choice i would have gotten the GFX 5600 Ultra, but since i double i would spend 500 dollars, I would get the 4800 because, it runs almost as good, I have heard

lol... ATI is ur preference, mine is nVidia. Use what you like

the ti4200 is a very under-rated card capable of been tweaked faster than the ti4400. i bought the XFX ti4200 64mb card and heres a quote from the review that made me buy it

id say its fairly close to the ti4600 in performance after been tweaked.

Some of the newer ones are good overclockers. You would have had to been lucky with an older card to get a good overclocker. The older ones used slower RAM (not much slower), along with other things.

I'd suggest putting a little overclock on your TI 4600. Might get closer to a TI 4800 speed.
