Would anyone be able to let me know what the newest drivers would be for the ATI9500 pro.  Just picked it up yesterday and went to www.guru3d.com to get the latest and was unable to figure out the numbering system.  Nothing said ATI9500.

Thank you for the assistance..

this driver should be the newest one (catalyst 3.2): wxp-w2k-radeon-7-84-030228a1-008041c

it surely supports your ATI 9500.

Thank you ATI_9700.  Judging by your call sign you seem to be in the know....

Thanks again I will head out to see what new drivers will do for me...

This is my first ATI card, is there any tips on what I can do to get the best performance out of it, while not loosing too much detail?

Thanks....

humm...
the best thing ,you could do is switching off v-sync (driver options "direct 3d"), you should get a much better performance now.
and set "texture settings" and "mipmap details" to the right ,it should give you a better image quality without losing too much performance. i suggest playing around with the sliders, until you've got a good mix of performance and image quality.

if you've got questions on your ati card, contact me. ;)

Thanks ATI_9700,

I appreciate your advice. I have been tinkering with the sliders on the card and I think I am getting close to understanding my card better.   I used to always use Nvidia, but now I am starting to think that ATI might have something pretty good here.  Atleast it is not as expensive as the Nvidia cards, and the performance seems to be just as good if not better.

Anyway, thanks again.  I will be sure to contact you if I have any more questions....
