On a previous topic, jato72 replied that he changed out the RAM on his computer, and his computer crashes stopped. I have the same problem, and I was wondering what changing out the RAM intells, and how to do it. This might be the answer to my problem too, and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

specs, my man,, we need specs    ;)

All of them:  board, cpu, current RAM, v-card, s-card  

Specs:
-1.1GHz computer (Model ATX-180) Unknown Manufacturer and motherboard.
-248MB of memory
-Nvidia MX420 Graphics Card(All updated drivers and DirectX.)
-AC'97 Sound Card

FYI, I called my motherboard tech support.  They provided me a list of "approved" RAM that was known to work with my board.

My approved memory was "Corsair" brand.  I also asked my "Fry's" computer store what they used for their machines.  They said "Corsair"!   I bought some and I am up and running with no problems.

You might want to poke around your nearest computer store where some smart lad can give you suggestions on what memory to use for your particular machine.

I would say gt your self a known mother board, Gigabyte maybe? and a AMD chip. Always buy "brands" as there is greater support with them - well some times  ;)

B-DUB has already bought and installed his RAM, so this is probably too late, but I highly recommend Crucial.com for your memory needs. They have it all. I purchased mine from them about a month ago, and got the best deal.

Install of the memory sticks isn't really a big deal, just make sure to ground yourself before touching anything inside the computer case. Crucial.com also has indepth instructions on how to make the changes and what to do afterwards.

Maybe worth a look.
