Lock-Up problem

My FS2002 locks up everytime I try to play it. At lower flight levels, it will run for about 10 minutes and then lock up. At flight levels such as 30,000ft., it'll lock up in about 45 minutes. When this happens, an error comes up. One of the errors said, "A Fatal Exception OE has occured 0028:FF0AA06E in VXD KMIXER(o1)+0000028E. I have no idea what this means. This is really starting to bother me. Has this happened to anyone else, and does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

You didn't mention what OS you are using. Lock ups!! What a pain. Try some simple things first.
As far as the Error message goes, that's Greek to me. You might try going to the Microsoft knowlege base or FAQ for the games and see if that error message is listed. If not, try the following steps.

1] Get the latest Direct X which is DX 9.0b
2] Get the latest drivers for your vid and sound cards that are DX compatible.
3] If you are using XP, see if there is a patch out there.

Also, Memory sure could use a boost. These flight sims are very memory intensive. Get as much as you can afford.

Finding the cause of lock ups for us lay people is a hit and miss thing in my opinion. But good luck and keep us posted.
