Help wih ASUS V9280/TD Ti42008X 128 MB

Postby HeavyMetal » Wed Mar 19, 2003 11:28 am

Hi there

Just bought an ASUS V9280/TD Ti42008X 128 MB Video Card. I had an Asus 32Mb and was getting only 2 frames per second at my LAX airport that had lots of addons.  I bought this new 128Mb and to my dismay am still getting only 2 FPS.

I am running

P4 1.5GHz
512 Mg Ram

My system shouldnt be a problem.  I just cant get the video card to PERFORM.  I removed the old card before installing the new one, and installed the new drivers.

Any advice would be appreciated

Speedbird, long time no see. Right this problem, hmm. Here is a checklist of things to try.
DirectX v9?
Defrag the HD?
If you've done those (no harm in asking), then try altering some of the settings in LAX. I found when I had all the add-ons even with my Ti4600 I was still getting a slight slow down, not anything like with my MX2, but still it could be noticed, so I dropped the AI traffic a bit and hey presto!
In the FS2k2 Forum Lee Swordy posted a thing about a new utility that can test your add-ons today.

thanks Ozzy, but im not even sure that my new card is indeed working. 2 FPS is just not acceptable. Not when we are talking about a 128 meg card.  Im ubder the suspition that im still using just the standard drivers. I cant understand why the windows98 didnt pick up the new device on boot up.  I may need AGP drivers installed and am looking for them now.
