Hoping some of you guys can shed some light on
this.Two days ago I switched to the national broadband.
It took a tech.hours to get it working.That is another story.

When I got to using it I had no sound.I previously had it sounding
great on my surround sound system.Logitech Z906.
I now have sound but voices have a kind of echo tinny sound.
Can anyone tell me what means what, in following picture ?

When you say 'broadband' you are talking about your internet (ISP) are you not? That shouldn't effect your sound (card) at all. It's a different animal.

Right away I noticed your graphic equalizer is not correct. Your middle freq's are more than your low or high freq. That is probably why you get this 'tinny' speech sound (or music for that matter). For me the middle freq (2 on either side of middle) should be turned down past '0'. The Very High (on right end) and the Very Low (on left end) should be between '0' and 'Max'. Then you form a 'curve' with the other sliders ('channels') for gradual change with Low starting almost 'Max' and curve toward middle, and same for High. Your 'curve' shoudl then be OPPOSITE of what you show now. Try that.

Hey Chuck ? I owe you one.That has worked a charm.All I need now is a little
more volume. This has been giving me a headache for days.
I know changing to broadband was not in itself the culprit.It was
the IT dude I hired at considerable expense that caused it. I asked him not to fool around with it
but Heh.

No problem. Glad it worked. To get more volume you might have to go 'Stereo' (2 speakers plus Woofer) setup. You DO have a woofer don't you? Or you could click on icon (left of center) and distribute the volume for each speaker so that the 'Front' speakers get the most volume. Or you can do what I did and buy a preamp that will amplify what comes out of rear audio panel (Left / Right / Middle / Woofer). Anyway the sim is not in stereo. So make a profiles to cover 2 different setups ('Sim=2 spkrs' & 'Default=surround'). I have GOT'S to have my SOUNDS!! (or FORGET 'Simming'!).

Thanks for the reply Chuck.I have a Dolby THX system.
Five speakers plus one huge Sub Woofer.
The reason I need a little more sound is,I am hard
of hearing. I find voices are hard to hear.

If I am for instance,flying an F-14 Tomcat at about
40% volume,it shakes the whole house.

Anthin if I had FSX up that level the dog and 2 cats would run for cover, creating a trail of destruction in their wake and SYMBOL would throw a fit. God help me if I get a warning bell/buzzer in the sim, (Which scares the bejesus out of me ) it's usually followed by a shriek of "What's that noise", my reply that "It's just a warning buzzer dear", which has me reaching for the volume control, never does go down well.

I can imagine Rich, the carnage it could cause with
Pets in the house. Not to mention your other half
thinking the world is about to end.

The sound of my Tomcat going supersonic scared
the Bejaysus out of me.As for my neighbour.She ended
up knocking at my door,to see if I was all right.

Same here (hear..get it? Ha!). 40% is all I need too. But it was a 'ball park' suggestion. The solution (for you) is to get a head set. That would solve everything.

Hi again Chuck.I have a pretty good headset.
I still get the surround sound from it.
I watch movies on my computer and I don't
upset the neighbours. I think 40% for a lot
of jets is about max.Anything more and it
is going to mess up what hearing I have left.

Could be Roy.At least some of it.
Also as a young man growing up in Toronto,
we lived right under the flightpath of Malton
Airport.( Now Lester B Pearson International.).
Nearly every weekend during Summer,I would
ride my bike up to the airport.In those days,no
fences etc.I began talking to some mechanics and
after a while,was allowed into the hangers. Being
so close to engines running up did not help either.

Sat in the cockpit of Connies,North Stars,707's
DC-8's.Great times.
