try to update sound drivers

I need to update my sound drivers, I click on update for the drivers and a message pops up says "anti x control" not installed. the last time I checked anti x control was or is bad for the computer and its components inside it. right? Iam I missing something here? I never used anti x because its bad.. somebody might need to update me on anti x control.
