Small Throttle?

Postby LTCSZ » Sat Sep 06, 2014 6:07 pm

I will try my best to describe what I am looking for...The space on my computer table is very limited, so every inch counts...What I would like is a small, separate throttle control to place on the left side of the keyboard...I don't want a quadrant or anything large...Some sort of small, rotary control that would function as a throttle would be fine...Nothing fancy...Any ideas would be welcome! Thanks a lot,

Steve

I'll take that "very limited" to mean just that.

And I know that you said "separate".

But why not a joystick with a throttle?

Thrustmaster USB Joystick - $23

These are just the first two that came up. You can spend several hundred dollars, or less than $10 - $15.

If it really has to be separate try this - Saitek X52 Pro Flight System Controller - $154

There's an even simpler, cheaper, controller for FS9/FSX that you may already have.

This will instantly be recognized, and is extremely easy to program.

SNES Retro USB Super Nintendo Controller (or any other USB controller. Brand is unimportant)

Just as the keyboard keys are assigned to throttle, rudder, elevator, etc., this type of controller can do the same.

In fact, I think that it would be more fun than using the keyboard shortcuts. Up & down are obvious, the same with left or right.

For what it's worth, this type of controller can also be made to do interesting stuff VERY simply - Some assembly required. :D
