Hi, I am a Danish flight simmer (FSX), and are now tired of all restrictions on my previous flight PC, so now I want to get a new one, but I am in doubt about I have found the best components:

CPU : Intel Core i7-4770K 3,5 GHz (turbo boost 3,9 GHz) what about overclocking ??
GPU : Asus Geforce GTX 780 3GB
Ram : Kingston 2x8 GB Hyper-X beast DDR3 2400 MHz CL 11
Hard disk 1: Intel 520 240 GB SSD (to Windows7 Home)
Hard disk 2: Intel 520 480 GB SSD (to FSX + add-ons)
PSU : I am looking for a 1000W (to be sure that it can deliver enough)

My goal is to be able to fly with settings as high as possibly

So I what to hear about this sounds like it will do ?
Any advice or proposals will be welcome.

Now that is a system that will kick some a**, but why are you allready thinking on OC'ing?

The only thing i would recommend is, that you check your MB to see if it can handle it.

Yes, I must apologize, I forgot to put the motherboard on to, I am thinking of using a: Asus Z87 -PRO (or -A) motherboard.
I am also in doubt about it is necessary of overclocking CPU, if it can go up to 3,9 GHz in turbo-boost, but was thinking that FSX could easily use all the CPU power it can get, what is your experience about this ?, and maybe it is to much to put 16 GB RAM into PC, when FSX only can use about 4 GB, I imagine that addon sceneries can use some of the RAM too, or am I wrong here ?

You dont need to OC that cpu.

BUT, if you run a win 32 bit i would not invest in such a high performance system!!
FSX in win 7 64 bit reads all your ram, 32 bit dont. It will read approx 3.8-4

You see, its not only about the HW system, its also about the SW that needs to run it

glad that You will help me, I have understood that FSX was a 32 bit program, and no matter you have a OS system either 32 or 64 bit, it would always work as and use max. 3,8 - 4 GB of Ram, no matter how much Ram you put into the PC, but if it is as You say then it seems more okay to put 16 or even 32 GB Ram into the PC, and then replace Win7 home edition with a Win7Pro (if a put more than 16 GB Ram in the PC)
I am glad that I don´t have to OC my CPU (it makes it last longer )
So 1´ priority must be a lot of CPU power
2´priority must be a lot of Ram
3´priority a powerful GPU

and of course to supply these hardware a good motherboard and a PSU (maybe a 850 W) which should be big enough to deliver the needed power.

Yes, fsx is a 32 bit program, but as i said, win 7 32 bit wont read your rams.

Didn't you get a 64 bit cd along with your win 7 home eddition? Then it will read some more.

Note: I use Corsair cmpsu-850hxeu to power my system, and it delivers what i want

Hi, again, first thanks for your replyes, to OldAirmail for giving the specifies limit for Win7 editions, and to Bass, yes I understand what You say that FSX is 32 bit system, but that is why that when you install big sceneries like fx. Orbit or Nl2000 it is important to restart between installing them, because on that way you will get the scene several cores instead of one core will have to supply both FSX and add on sceneries.
The reason I am looking for a 1000W PSU is that the CPU uses 84 W and the GPU takes 600W and there should be enough to fans and PSU (itself too) so I have found a Seasonic PLATINUM-1000 ATX 1000 W, which also have that advantage that it only delived as mush Watt as necessary.

Yes, a restart after any install is always a good idea!

I think you are aware of, that there is a campaign running on Seasonic's power supplies atm.
