Before you plug in a power adapter.....

Postby loomex » Wed Mar 20, 2013 2:19 pm

....Make sure its for the correct item. I plugged in my power adapter into my USB hub then plugged in my Saitek X45. The problem is I plugged in a 12v power supply in to a hub that took a 5v power supply. It fried something in my flight controller, the lights work but nothing else. Now I have to wait until I can get a new or used joystick :( I did crack open the joystick but found nothing obviously burned out.

Bad news, Loom!... ....

I have a mountain of different power adaptors for all my various equipment, including all my music keyboards....

And the things I ALWAYS check first, to match the equipment:
1: The output DC Voltage!
2: The output DC Watts/Amps!
3: The output Regulated/Unregulated!
4: The output polarity: Positive/Negative centre pin...Vital!

All checked with my Multimeter.

Get any one or more of them wrong, and you will trash your equipment!

Paul....Buried under Wall Warts!... ...!
