You will be very happy with that rig. Its not too far from one I built a client. Overclocking on that board is very very easy, and with its F4 BIOS stable as all hell.

My dad is giving me more money (I guess) or at least more money than I expected to spend. I'm now looking for a good SLi mobo please. Core 2 Duo support and all, at about

Asus P5N32-E SLi nForce 680i

Go for WinXP and 2GB RAM
If you're gonna spend a bit more consider the 7900GT or 7950GT its got 24 pixel pipelines versus the 20 in the 7900GS..it will cost up to

Yeah, well I don't know how far my dad is willing to go, but he suggested water cooling while watching me browse some parts (fans etc). I think SLi will be a good upgrade from what I currently have planned as at least I will have the option in the future, plus a generally faster motherboard. The thing is, I'd rather ask him how much he is really willing to let me spend, as I don't want him to buy loads more than he can really afford just to make me happy for my birthday (well I at least want to know it's ok.) Plus I need some left over for games (like

Racing Stripes,

The 7900GS is an excellent card and you can always upgrade it in a year or 2 once Vista and DX10 have been de-bugged and ironed out.  So the decent MOBO is the better option (althoughh MOBOs are cheaper than GFX cards) they're more of a pain to replace and upgrade becuase you generally have to do a fresh install of Windows.

Time to stop wishing ..make a list... and stick with it

Ok, I see what you mean lol. I'm a very indecisive person, and a purchase of this price just makes me crazy. I think I will ask my dad to get that mobo if he can get it for cheaper. I'm going to give him the part name and say can you see how much you can get this for, as it would be better than the motherboard I said before.
Thanks

Get a decent CPU cooler too! (Zalman CNPS-9700Cu )

If I was your Dad.. I'd keep the rig for myself and give you a Wii for your birthday!

Then I would have to Wii on his rig. Anyway he has no interest in gaming, or hi spec PCs. The technology he deals with is pretty standard, although sometimes he makes hi spec machines, as he has I believe made (not personally but his company) an SLi flight simulator.

Ok, I can't get the SLi motherboard, should I go for the:
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3-http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-061-GI
Or I have seen this: Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLi nForce 650-http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-124-AB
Is the Fatal1ty one better, the price worries me for an SLi board, plus it boasts so much. Which is better?
Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650-http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-221-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=205
Just found that, so which of these 3 is best? This is the last component I need to decide, as I can't afford the 680i.
