I don't own any other games.  Well yes I do, WoW, but I just downloaded it yesterday so I have nothing to compare it with.

The power connector is definitely plugged into the vid card.  I guess it could be a virus but that would be a record for me.  The computer is barely 3 weeks old and I really dont use it for anything except FSX.

I'll try using your settings that you suggested and report back.

Just for reference, before making any changes... AutoBloom was off, Scenery Complexity was at Dense, Autogen was at Normal, Ground Shadows were off, Water was on 2.x Mid.

I have aircraft on High and Weather on High.   Running at 1440x900 resolution.

WOW is hardly a demanding game, it'll work fine on cards a few gens old.

Try something like FEAR.

Ok so with your suggested settings and a frame target locked on 24, I consistently got 24 FPS.

Then I exited, turned AI Traffic up to high and changed nothing else.  Started up again and now I'm between 9-12 fps.  I noticed that it automatically changed my aircraft settings to Ultra High.

I then went in again and set the aircraft display settings to Medium Low and it didn't do much.  I gained about a half a frame.

So then I turned AI Traffic down to Medium High (from High) and gained about 1 fps, averaging around 12.5 with ranges from 11-14.

Press Alt-Ctrl-Delete, in performance tab, what's your idle CPU usage, and page file usage?

CPU Usage is ranging between 0-3% but mostly 0 or 1.

Page file is at 770m / 6332m
